The Chronologic Internship Program is an opportunity for students to obtain practical experience and gain valuable knowledge in the music industry. It is Chronologic’s internship vision to be “a catalyst of hope, inspiration and empowerment to transform lives, through the talents and perseverance of our generation.” There are a plethora of “hands on” projects, interns will learn how to market and promote music, while participating behind the scenes of a nationally touring band on a major record label. In this program, students will be working to promote Issakar, a Northwest artist signed on a national major record label, Centricity Records. Issakar exhibits a ministry of innovative music with a powerful message. It is Issakar’s hope “to be a relevant voice to their generation, pointing them to a real God.”
Each internship project will be customized to focus on each student’s scholastic major and personal talents, within the following project categories: marketing and promotion, media and web design, photography, and music ministry. All students will be supervised by Raymond De Silva, Director of Internships of Chronologic and Band Pastor for Issakar. His executive team committee consists of Chronologic President Josiah Warneking and Manager Ryan Shrout of Downbeat Management and Issakar. There will be a mandatory meeting each month with the Director of Internships, where interns will reflect, discuss and strategize future goals. Periodically, there will be online discussions regarding relevant news in the music industry. At the conclusion of the Chronologic Solutions Internship, there will an annual celebration where interns are required to provide a professional ten minute presentation of their experiences during the internship. Following the completion of all academia and satisfactory work, interns are welcomed to ask for a letter of recommendation from Chronologic Solutions and/or Issakar.
Earning college credit through this program is at the discretion of each student’s professor, who will determine the number of hours to be designated to this program, as well as the student requirements for earning credit. Also note that this is not a paid internship, nor is there any intent on offering a staff position as a result of the internship. This program exists to offer students the opportunity to gain tangible experience in the music industry while earning potential college credit in the process.
The Application Process:
1) The first step in joining the internship program is to contact Raymond De Silva and apply for acceptance. Please send applications via-email or submit in person (contact information provided below).
2) If you are looking to receive college credit for participating in this program, you must discuss the opportunity with your respective professor. The parameters for earning credit are solely between you and your professor. Often students are required to keep a journal and/or write an essay. 3) Upon acceptance into the program and approval from your professor, you will discuss your goals with Raymond De Silva to determine the scope of your involvement with Issakar. The projects assigned to you will be completely customized to your goals and/or strengths.
